Teacher Guide

A step-by-step guide to everything you can do on Lenguvo.

1. Getting Started: 3-Step Setup

When you first log in, the dashboard walks you through three onboarding steps:

  1.  Create a class – your organisational unit for a group of students
  2.  Add a learning set – vocabulary your students will learn
  3.  Invite students – share your join code so students can join the class

Once all three steps are complete, you can run lessons, games, and exams.

2. Classes

2.1 Create a Class

Dashboard → “New Class” or Classes → “Create First Class”

  • –Name – e.g. “Year 9B” or “French Year 9”
  • –Subject – e.g. “English” (pre-filled)
  • –Grade level – e.g. “Year 10”

After saving, a unique join code is generated, visible on the class card and detail page.

2.2 Share the Join Code with Students

Students join with the invite link or the join code – no email address, just a name.

  1. 1Invite: you'll find the code, invite link and QR code in your class under the “Students” or “Settings” tab. Use “Fullscreen / Projector” to show them large to the whole class.
  2. 2Join: students open the link, scan the QR code or go to lenguvo.com → “Student” and enter the code. Then they type their name.
  3. 3Sign in again later (e.g. on another device): use the link or code again and type exactly the same name – progress and XP are back straight away.

Tip: ideally everyone uses their first and last name, spelled the same way each time. A name spelled differently creates a new account. If someone forgets their name, it's in the student list.

2.3 Manage a Class

Open a class from the dashboard or class list. From the detail page you can:

Paste word pairs separated by a semicolon, one pair per line:

hola ; Hallo

Upload a PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPG, or WEBP. The AI extracts vocabulary pairs automatically. Takes 10–30 seconds. Set the correct languages first.

  • –Add a word – form at the top (source, target, optional note)
  • –Edit a word inline – click any cell in the table, change the value, press Enter or click away – saves automatically
  • –Add synonyms – each word has a second row for accepted alternatives (comma-separated)
  • –Delete a word – hover over a row and click ✕
  • –Import via CSV – upload a .csv or .txt file (foreign word ; translation per line)
  • –Duplicate the set – creates an independent copy to edit separately

  2. Copy the link and paste it into the browser address bar on the board
  3. Choose which game modes are available via this link
  4. You can regenerate the link at any time (the old link becomes invalid)

  2. The set appears on the Discover page for all teachers
  3. It gets a Google-indexed public URL
  4. Can be made private again at any time
